Oct 11th, 2012 | Reading, PA – The Reading Rockets are pleased to announce the signing of lefty forward Jesse Guerin. The 24 year old Canadian is currently signed with the Minnesota Swarm of the NLL and was the second leading scorer in the highly-talented MSL, finishing with 59 points (22 goals, 37 assists) in just 14 games this past summer.

“To add a player of this caliber is a no-brainer for us,” said Rockets Vice President and General Manager Andy Makal. “Jesse gives us legitimate box lacrosse experience and a great offensive weapon on the left side. We’re excited to get him on the field.”

Joining Guerin are forwards Linden Stevens and Preston Lay, both of whom have experience in CLAX and Can-Am lacrosse. Stevens, who scored four goals in his Rockets debut last weekend, is a 5’11” 215 pound forward who joins Travis Bland and Andrew Lazore on the right side. 6’1” 205 pound lefty Preston Lay, also a Western New York native, has been a high scoring forward in the CanAm League.

“All in all, we believe we’ve added some talented guys to our lineup,” added Head Coach Tom Slate. “These guys all have indoor lacrosse experience and talent. They give us a chance to win every night.”

The Rockets continue their inaugural season on Friday, November 9th against the Charlotte Copperheads at the Sovereign Center in downtown Reading. Everyone is encouraged to join in the support of our nation’s military for Military Appreciation Night. Portions of ticket sales and a portion of the proceeds from the postgame jersey auction will benefit Keystone Wounded Warriors and the VA Hospital in Reading.  Tickets can be purchased online at www.rocketslax.com and through the Sovereign Center Box Office.
